Last week, I posted a couple of pictures of Denver ‘Stone Cold Killer’ Eastman on a mysterious set, driving a mysterious Buick. It was all very mysterious and secretive.  The big secret is that we were working on this: the very last Zellers ad.


Yep. Their very last ad ever. It’s the end of an era. The 80-year old retailer is closing up shop and calling it a day. So, I guess this is part of their swan song.  Oddly sad stuff, I guess. I wish I could tell you that we were all very somber on set and joined hands and sang a maudlin rendition of Auld Lang Syne when we wrapped. But I can’t. Because we didn’t.

The ad, featuring Zellers’ mascot ‘Zeddy’, is part of their Everything Must Go campaign and was featured in a recent article in Strategy ( Turns out that they really are liquidating everything, including their mascot, which (who?) they’re giving away via a facebook contest.
